A blessed person in his teaching demanded the justice in the public life, because this virtue is indissoluble with the life of the man and the possibility worth functioning of the society. Solidarity in sermons Rev. Jerzy was determined in the twofold way: as the virtue and NSZZ "Solidarity". It is in the realization of the value of the solidarity Rev. Jerzy zauważał, że dążenie do prawdy jest nie tylko wpisane w naturę człowieka, ale także w jego powołanie. Podstawą ładu społecznego i wewnętrznego spokoju człowieka jest prawda, która wyzwala człowieka od zniewoleń i zła. Ks. Popiełuszko w kazaniachakcentował to co najbardziej stanowi o człowieczeństwie, a więc godność i wolność.Błogosławionybardzo mocno uwydatnił, iż warunkiem zachowania godności człowieka jest zachowanie wolności wewnętrznej, nawet gdy zagrożona jest wolność zewnętrzna. Dążenie do prawdziwej wolności może dokonać się tylko poprzez konsekwentny wybór Bożej hierarchii wartości. Mówiąc o cnocie sprawiedliwości ks. Popiełuszko podkreślał, iż skupia się ona w realizacji wartości: prawdy i miłości. To te wartości, są najlepszym uosobieniem i wyrażeniem sprawiedliwości. Błogosławiony w swoim nauczaniu upominał się o sprawiedliwość w życiu publicznym, gdyż cnota ta jest nierozerwalna z życiem człowieka i możliwością godnego funkcjonowania społeczeństwa. Solidarność w kazaniach ks. Jerzego była określana w dwojaki sposób: jako cnota i NSZZ „Solidarność”. To w realizacji wartości solidarności ks. Jerzy Popiełuszko upatrywał jedność Polaków, w osiągnięciu i realizacji pokoju społecznego, a przede wszystkim pokoju serc. W Związku Zawodowym „Solidarność” widział nadzieję na ogólnonarodowe dobro, które będzie wyrażać się poprzez poszanowanie podstawowych wartości człowieka i społeczeństwa
